DO NO HARM OPEN

London-based trio Do No Harm have dropped the fantastic new single, ‘Open’. It’s a tight, anguished track that finds a middle ground between spiky, motorik drum rhythms and distant, folky acoustic guitar, with mournful vocal harmonies delivering ethereal melodies throughout. “The song looks at the yearning we all have for a ‘meaningful life’, and how that sometimes leads to a destructive relationship with devotion,” the band explain. “It is based on ‘The Books Of Jacob’s’ self-proclaimed messiah, Jacob Frank.” Jess Mills might be known for fronting Do Not Harm, but has also built up quite the portfolio of charitable work, which includes being a founding member of refugee charity Choose Love and CEO of the Tessa Jowell Foundation. Listen to their music, including the DAMASCENE EP from earlier this year, but also look into these worthy causes. -Dan Peeke.
